Our Origins
The story begins in 1990 with the creation of PRENSATUR, USA, established in Orlando, Florida, by a group of Hispanic media and marketing professionals, including Mr. Manuel Toro, President of La Prensa Newspaper (Orlando, FL), and Architect Luis Cerrato, who served as Vice President for six years.
During this era, PRENSATUR played an important role in Hispanic media, collaborating with organizations such as the National Federation of Hispanic Newspapers (NFHON) and coordinating international events including:

International Hispanic Media Conference (Miami, 1994)

Expo of the Americas (Orlando, 1996)

Support programs for institutions like MOIAC (Metro Orlando International Affairs Commission), MAES Scientists and Engineers, and major cultural projects with companies such as Walt Disney World, Universal Studios Florida, Paramount Parks, Busch Entertainment, Kennedy Space Center, and more.
This foundation cemented PRENSATUR’s reputation as a leader in Hispanic advertising, cultural programming, and tourism promotion.
Expanding to Central America
In 1997, PRENSATUR launched PRENSATUR Centroamérica, S.A., headquartered in Nicaragua and serving Latin America. Through this expansion, the company led national tourism branding campaigns, including:

Río San Juan – Dare to Discover It
For over a decade, PRENSATUR also published TV Guía (Movies & Tourism Magazine) and produced tourist guides for Ticuantepe and Río San Juan, further reinforcing its role as a key media partner for national and regional tourism development.
Collaborations with INTUR (Instituto Nicaragüense de Turismo), international cooperation agencies (Swiss Cooperation, UKAID, Cooperation Spain, Andalusia, and more), and tourism associations (CANTUR, CANATUR) extended its influence into economic sustainability, SME development, and regional promotion.






Innovation & Digital Transformation
Always adapting to new market trends, PRENSATUR expanded into digital marketing and online communications. In 2016, the company launched INNOVA/DIGITAL MARKETING, introducing neuroscience-based NeuroSales strategies to deliver more effective campaigns across the U.S. and Latin America (with operations extending to Peru and Argentina).





THE BIRTH OF PURO TABACO
Building on this rich heritage, Revista Puro Tabaco was launched as a specialized media outlet focused on the cigar industry. Based in Nicaragua — the heart of the world’s premium cigar production — the magazine highlights the craft, culture, and global business of tobacco.
